We bought this riser because we needed somewhere to put a DVD player and the cable box. Our apartment has a cut out above the fireplace for the TV, and mounting a shelf above our 52" TV, which was already high up in the cut out wasn't a good option. I searched all over the internet for risers and this is basically the one there was to choose from that met our needs. Its fine, and does what we needed it to do. Decent for the price.

This stand is perfect for elevating my 42" Plasma LG, and providing room under the TV for the LG Blue Ray player and the Comcast HD -DVR . This free's up room on my office cabinets for additional items. Price is a little high with shipping, however there are not many stands with this simple configuration.
